#MidWeekTease o5.24.17

midweeknewestWelcome to MidWeek Tease! I love being late to the party 😦

Its been a crazy week already, but we are winding down on the school year and things always get crazy around this time. I also wanted to say that Kathleen Grieve’s family is in my thoughts. I am so sad to hear of her passing!

Let’s continue on with my WIP. It’s about a young, wealthy, winery owner and artist, who falls for a woman who works at the art museum. He is immediately drawn to her not only because he thinks she is beautiful, but because she is so bold and sassy. Only his true identity must not ever be known to her. Both struggle to fight their growing attraction to each other, until Anton proposes a strictly physical affair. But how long will it last before they admit to each other that they want something more? And what will happen if she discovers his secret?

Where we last left off Anton and Charlotte were having a glass of wine after the artist reception at the museum. Anton was having issues controlling certain parts of himself 😉

male-vampire-biting-woman-passion-20611105“I have something for you.” I said, trying to change the subject, as I pulled my phone from my pocket. “I need your email, though, to send it to you.”

She looked at me, weird. “Ughh, why?” She questioned.

It took me a second to figure why she had asked like that.

“No, no, no.” I slightly laughed, “Not that. I’m not sending you dick pics if that’s what you think. That’s happened to you?”

“Far too many times.” She laughed.

I shook my head, “I apologize for the male species everywhere.”

“I’m not against it,” I continued, now would have been the best time to send one, “but it takes some pretty heavy begging from the receiving party. I had Jonathan record the talk on my phone for you, but its too big of a file to text you.”

“Oh, wow, thanks.”

I nodded and handed her my phone with a new contact page for her info. She quickly typed.

“May I have your phone number, too?” I politely asked.

She raised her eyebrows at me and then a small smile crept across her face.

“Yeah.” She replied, “You get annoying, I don’t have a problem hitting the block button.”

“Point taken.” I said, swirling and sipping more wine. “On that note, you don’t have a lover that’s going to want to beat the crap out of me for talking to you and keeping you so late?”

I wasn’t sure how well the monster in me would react to a possessive significant other, it was already hard enough to control myself around her.

She handed me my phone. “No, I’m a free agent. Have been for a long time, so no worries here. What about you? Am I going to have some crazy lover… or ex lover after me because I had a glass of wine with you?”

“Absolutely not. I’ve been too busy with the winery for any romantic entanglements.”

It had actually been over a century since I had last “dated” anyone.

She went to sip her wine, instinctively I put my hand on hers, “Swirl it first.”

“Right.” She replied, as if trying to remember. Her soft skin once again sending a spark through me. I quickly removed my hand so she could drink.

“You’ll learn.” A bit of dominance slipping into my tone.

She wasn’t lost to it. She stared at me for second, her eyes dilating for a moment. She smiled before she brought the glass to her lips.

She seems to be having all these different effects on him. The ones she notices, I think she likes 🙂

midweeknewestWelcome to Midweek Tease!! Thanks to Angelica Dawson for hosting this!!

Are you all ready for more of my vampire erotic romance WIP? I am so ready to share more.

We continue where we left off last week. We are in Anton’s POV and Charlotte’s last line was that she would take him up on that bubble bath sometime… (hot!)

male-vampire-biting-woman-passion-20611105She looked at me with a I-didn’t-say-it face.

We stared at each other, unsure what either one of us should say. Was she just as nervous and anxious as I was, afraid that this night was coming to a close and we would have to be apart for who knows how long? I was tempted to read her thoughts and maybe listen to the beating of her heart, but that was a dangerous thing to do. I put up a mental block always, so I wouldn’t read human’s minds – something I was so gifted with to do. Reading hers would have felt like I was invading her privacy. And listening to her heart would lead to me to reading her blood, which could bring on my bloodlust. I wanted nothing to ruin this night.

“Have a drink with me.” I said, commanding rather than asking.

“Um…” She stammered, “I-I can’t, I’m still on the clock.”

“You’re free to go, Charlotte, we got this.” Dana smiled from behind her. Both of us to lost in each other to notice that Dana was standing right there.

Charlotte turned her head slightly to Dana and thanked her.

“You missed the debut of our new hybrid wine, I had Sarah set some aside for us by the cafe. I promise I won’t keep you too long, I know you’re tired.”

I wouldn’t actually, but I wanted to keep her for an eternity.

“Okay.” She replied. “But first, since I am off the clock.”

I watched as she reached down to her shoes and lifted the straps on both, releasing her feet. She looked so happy to get those shoes off her feet as she stepped out of them and put them behind her desk. Just as I had thought, out of her shoes, I towered a good six inches over her. But I don’t think she cared, she just wanted out of those shoes.

I held out my arm to her as she looked up at me, carefully placing her hand on my arm. I lead her down to the cafe area, and just as I had instructed Sarah to do, there were two glasses of wine already on a table. I held out the chair for her and allowed her sit before sitting across from her.

“I don’t know how much you enjoy wine, but this is a hybrid consisting of Noiret and Cabernet Franc with undertones of cherry and raspberry.” I said, as I swirled the liquid.

“I drink wine, but I know absolutely nothing about it.” She laughed.

“I’ll to have you come down to the winery, I’ll teach you all about wine…if you want to learn. Its an artistic process, finding just the right blends.”

“Maybe.” She said, as she slightly picked up the glass.

“Swirl it first, it helps to bring out the aroma and flavor.” I placed my hand over hers, helping her hold the glass by the stem, as I showed her how to swirl it. Her hand warmer than mine but not by too much. The touch of her soft skin sending sparks through me.

“Now smell the wine.” I said, trying to distract me from the sensation I was feeling as I let go of her hand. We both took in the aroma of the wine. “Now taste it.”

I watched as she brought the glass to her smooth natural pink lips, the red liquid hitting them. I longed for the red liquid to be my blood, an offering of my love to her to make us the closest a human and a vampire could become without her being turned. I lifted my glass, too, and as i drank, fantasized it was her blood, the sweet and delicate taste filling me. The blood dreams were starting.

“This really sweet for a red.” She said.

I nodded in agreement. “Its the cherry and raspberry that gives it the sweet taste and bold dark red color.”

She swirled the glass, watching the color. “I want my hair this shade.”

“That color would look incredibly sexy on you.” I said, not even thinking about what I was saying.

She smiled. “I never knew that tasting wine could be such a… seductive experience.”

I laughed, “Its because its red wine. Although, I guess anything could be turned into a seductive experience if done carefully enough.”

“Its all about who you’re with.” She added, looking at me.

“And its about the teasing the senses, making them wait in anticipation, and then when the right moment comes, flooding them with the height of the experience.” I spoke slowly, trying to turn her on. I could tell she had experience not only in life itself, but in the pleasures of life. She kept my gaze the whole time, not shying away, like someone inexperienced would do, although her lower half shifted in her seat. Perfect.

“Where are you from?” She asked, almost in a trance. “Your voice, I can hear the slightest accent, but I can’t place it.”

“I grew up in Bucharest, Romania, but that was a long time ago. Most don’t ever hear the accent, I lost it being in the States for most of my life.”

I was sad to lose my accent, it had been a years since I had even spoke Romanian. It was like I lost a part of myself, but it was better for blending in.

“Well, don’t lose the rest.” She said, taking another sip of wine.

“I’ll try not to.” I smiled. For her, I would try to get what I had lost of it back.

“Ai ochi frumoşi.” Slipped out of my mouth.

She looked at me and smiled, waiting for me to translate.
“You can Google it later.” I winked at her.

“Like I’m going to remember that. Much less how to spell it.”

“Say it few times.” I said it slowly, “Ai. ochi. frumoşi.”

She already had the voice of a siren, but listening to her speak my native language tingled every part of me, my cock stiffened and rubbed hard against the fabric of my pants. Not the reaction I was expecting from listening to her speak such elementary Romanian.

“Good.” I said before taking a sip of wine in hopes of calming down the stiffening in my pants.

She has such an effect on him, although I don’t think she knows it quite yet. This could be dangerous ground for a vampire 🙂

#MidWeekTease o5.1o.17

midweeknewestWelcome to Midweek Tease!

We continue on with my WIP Blood Wine (?) It’s a vampire erotic romance, set in western New York.

We continue where we left off last week. I’m very excited to be sharing Anton’s POV this week…

male-vampire-biting-woman-passion-20611105The artist talk went smoothly, nothing I couldn’t handle. Because of owning the wine business, I was used to giving talks and having business meetings. Plus all my years of existing on earth giving me more experience than anyone could count. I had done almost everything and seen almost everything over the centuries. I am now saying almost because I had never seen anything like Charlotte and I cannot rightfully say I have done everything, when there was a whole new world to explore with her. If she would let me. And if I was careful how I went about this. She couldn’t find out what I was, ever. It would put her in danger, although being around me was danger enough in itself. And humans, as I have found, don’t take too kindly to the presence of vampires, even if they think vampires are the coolest thing in the world, the reaction is quite the opposite when they meet a real blood drinking one.

The only way the talk could have been better is if I could have looked up every time and seen her beautiful deep green eyes watching me. I didn’t need to get too close to her to see that deep green color was real and not an enhancement of contacts; my vampiric vision much greater than a human’s. It allowed me to see the specs of different shades of green that made up her eyes.

I come to the museum frequently during the late fall and winter months, when darkness takes over the sky earlier in the day and I can make it to the exhibit openings and receptions, but since it was the beginning of fall and the sun still doesn’t set early enough, it had been months since I had been to events at the museum. Any business I have had at the museum for the winery or for my exhibition, I made sure was done in the late evening hours, using the excuse that I was very busy down in the Finger Lakes. So, Charlotte must have been a new hire in the last six months because I had never seen her here at the receptions or working the Thursday later museum hours.

I wasn’t expecting her when I walked in and once I saw her I was consumed by her. Her snarky and bold personality, not making it easy to forget her. That and the fact she was simply beautiful with her pale skin and long black straight hair that was was shorter in the front and fell to one side of her face. She was almost my height with the black four inch platform thick high shoes she had on, so without them I would have easily towered over her.

I was simply lost in her, but what I wanted with her was unknown. Her beauty tempted and tortured me so, along with her bold attitude. Thankfully, I was so lost in her, I wasn’t lost into her blood yet. Add that into the mix and I truly will be a tortured soul once more. I had lived long enough to get over my transition from a mortal to a vampire. It wasn’t easy to get over the tortured soul element, my artwork helped, but to have her bring me back to tortured soul, was not an expectation of tonight.

This talk and reception had become extensively boring since Charlotte wasn’t here to light up the room. I wanted to listen to her lose herself into my artwork, again, or any artwork in the museum for that matter, the way her eyes sparkled when she talked about art. I feigned interest as potential patrons asked me about my work. Jonathan letting me know that I had sold a few. I pointed out a painting and a photograph that I was suddenly not willing to part with, they were to be gifts, to Charlotte, once the exhibition was over.

I floated through the rest of the reception, desperately waiting for the guests to all leave or for midnight to arrive for it to be over. Usually hours are nothing for a vampire when centuries pass like years, but tonight it seemed like the minutes were ticking away slowly.

As I went to walk out with the last of the guests, Sarah and a few others were cleaning up the wine and glasses. I stepped over to Sarah and kindly asked her to set aside a bottle of the new red wine that made a premier at the reception tonight, slipping her a tip as the others were busy with their tasks.

As I walked from the gallery where no one was around, I used my speed to get to the exit of the main gallery, anxious to see those deep green eyes, again. As I walked out, she was there saying goodnight to the last of the guests, and thanking them for their patronage.

She turned around and jumped back slightly, seeing as I was standing right there. I grinned as she cursed under her breath.

“How’d it go?” She asked, after catching her breath.

“It went…good.” I replied, relieved to be looking into those eyes again, for whatever reason they calmed me.

“Good. And thanks for the tea, it did help.”

“You’re welcome.” I said, a bit nervously, hoping what I wrote in the note wasn’t too much to scare her away. “You’re so busy taking care of others, I figured someone needed to take care of you.”

“You’re very sweet.” She smiled. She looked away and then bold but quietly said, “I might take you up on that bubble bath some day, too.”

I love how bold she can be!!

#MidWeekTease o5.o3.17

midweeknewestWelcome to MidWeek Tease!

I am super late with this post. A migraine took me out last night and a shitty morning today. So, now I sit here frantically writing this. But hopefully this will mellow me out a bit.

Anyway, we continue on with my WIP Blood Wine (?) It’s a vampire erotic romance, set in western New York.

Where we left off last week, Anton Pierce wanted Charlotte, who works the museum’s admissions desk, to join him in the museum auditorium for his artist talk, but she regretfully had to decline and keep her post at the admissions desk.

male-vampire-biting-woman-passion-20611105As I sat already bored out of my mind, I contemplated the thought of being an assistant curator and how I wouldn’t miss a moment of these receptions, I’d be there for all of it. But then I wondered if I was only so excited for the thought of being at Mr. Pierce’s. That already seemed like the likely story. Why was this wine guy with millions to throw around, haunting my mind so? He obviously had some interest, right? Ughhh…I’m just going to continue to tell myself I’m not interested. Just then Sarah came walking up from the cafe. She walked up to the desk and tried to hand me the paper cup she was carrying.
“Is this for Mr. Pierce?” I asked, wondering if he had requested something once he had gone inside the auditorium.

“No, silly.” Sarah replied, “Its for you. Its green tea. Mr. Pierce kindly requested I make you a cup. He’s so charming, I couldn’t say no.”

“Oh, Sarah, you didn’t have to do that. Thank you.” I said taking it from her.

“Its your favorite Jade Cloud. Mr. Pierce felt bad that you had to miss everything inside, so…oh and here’s a little note he wanted me to give you.”

She handed me the same paper I had given Mr. Pierce, only folded in half.

“I have to get a few things ready for when the talk is over.” She said, going back the way she came.
Intrigued, I opened the note. For whatever reason, I looked up and around to make sure no one was watching, like it was some big secret Sarah had passed a note to me, like it was going to say, I want to fuck you, or meet me in my bedroom, or something else not safe for work. As if this whole night so far, had not been safe for work. And that was me who had started it all by showing my snarkiness.

As I stared at the note, my jaw must have dropped to the floor – his handwriting was sobdaa394abff5b073e71f373256f1158e perfect and flawless. Cursive writing that looked like it was written in another time with a fountain pen. Even his damn, fucking handwriting was beautiful. I finally focused on the words, “I can’t help with the bubblebath, at least not now, so hopefully the tea with keep you going a little bit longer. Enjoy. Anton.”

I set down the note, not sure how to feel exactly. Parts of me were screaming, yes, yes, yes, at the thought of him helping with a bubblebath; naked bodies beneath hot bubbly water. So many things could happen. And the other part of me was screaming no, this had gone on long enough. I took a long sip of tea. I was just tired and over reacting. I just had to get through this night and get some sleep. I was sure by the time morning came, he would have forgotten all about me and moved on to someone more his stature.

Thanks for reading! I think next week, we might get Anton’s POV of things 🙂

midweeknewestWelcome to MidWeek Tease! I want to send a huge thank you to Angelica Dawson for hosting this blog hop & for adding my blog link to the contributors section on the MidWeek Tease Blog. Thank you 🙂

And I am so gonna tease you by continuing with an excerpt from my Camp NaNo project, called Blood Wine. It’s a vampire erotic romance, set in western New York.

Where we left off last week, Mr. Pierce had not seen his art exhibit yet, so Charlotte went to show him, only she was engrossed by his artwork for a second time, connecting them even further. The last lines were of Charlotte asking if he needed anything before the guests arrived, to which he replied a glass of water…

male-vampire-biting-woman-passion-20611105I made my way over to where one of our cafe staff named Sarah, was setting up a table. I asked her if she would be able to get Mr. Pierce a fresh glass of cold bottled water. She looked happy at such a task, silently swooning over him. I walked back to my desk, Mr. Pierce was busy talking to museum staff as Sarah brought him the glass of water. She was definitely remaining more professional than I was.

Mr. Pierce made his way back over to me.
“Thank you for the water.” He said.
“You’re welcome.” I replied, briefly looking up at him and smiling, then looking back at the computer screen at my desk, like I was busy doing something, so I wasn’t just staring at him.

“What about you…what do you need?” He asked, staring at me intensely.

I laughed, “Thanks, but nothing.”

He continued to look at me, so I broke down and answered, as guests began to trickle in, “I need a cup of hot green tea and a bubblebath.”

He laughed and walked over to meet guests. I stood at the desk and watched as many more guests entered. Jonathan came over to tell me that right before 9:30, he was going to have everyone head to the auditorium for the artist talk, before running off again, to smooze with guests.

Most of the time I just stayed at the desk during these functions because I had to. I had to make sure guests didn’t enter the gallery and weren’t wandering around. Sometimes, a colleague would relieve me and Dana would introduce me to people, helping me to network. Tonight I was just happy to stay in one place. Some of the guests were regular patrons of the museum that came to almost all of the receptions. A few came over to say hello to me during this half hour of meet and greet time. But as more and more people came in, it was apparent that they were associates of Mr. Pierce. This was the most packed I had seen the museum for a reception.

I just wanted this night to be over with…..or maybe I just wanted Mr. Pierce to pay attention to me more to make the time pass. That was impossible now.

“You definitely need to change up your game plan.” Dana said, snapping me back to earth.

I looked at her not sure what she meant.

“Mr. Pierce has been glancing at you since he got here. You definitely have his attention.”

I smiled and shrugged my shoulders, “I know. I’m just not good with relationships. Plus he’s wealthy, I’m not so sure I would handle that well.”

“I’m telling you, Charlotte, I’ve seen him around the museum a lot, he always looks so glum and sad. Whatever you said to him tonight, I’ve never seen him so happy.”

Dana walked away as I looked up at him. He was glancing over this way as he was talking. I smiled and his face lit up.

Right before 9:30, Jonathan announced for everyone to make their way to the auditorium. That was my cue to hold the door to the main gallery open for them. As guests passed through, Mr. Pierce quickly made his way over and held the other door open, both of us being greeted with thank yous from the guests. Jonathan and the rest of the staff passed through, Mr. Pierce letting them know he would be there in a minute. When the coast was clear, he looked at me.

“Will you be joining me?” He asked.
I shook my head, “I can’t. I have to stay out here and guard the gallery.”

“I thought that’s what security was for?”

“Me, too. But I have to show any latecomers where to go instead of having them wander the museum.”

“Even if I demand you be there?” He said.

“That’s the one thing I can’t do. I’d like to hear your talk though.”

He looked disappointed, but said okay. Before he walked through the doors, he asked if he could have a piece of paper and a pen.

“Absolutely.” I replied. I went over to the desk and grabbed him a note paper and a pen.

“Good luck.” I said, as I handed it to him.

“Thanks.” He said, before he disappeared inside.

midweeknewestWelcome to this week’s MidWeek Tease 🙂

And I am so gonna tease you by continuing with an excerpt from my Camp NaNo project, called Blood Wine. It’s a vampire erotic romance, set in western New York.

Where we left off last week, Anton and Charlotte, met for the first time at the exhibit opening for Anton’s artwork. Charlotte works at the museum. She was quite sassy when she introduced herself to him.

male-vampire-biting-woman-passion-20611105I watched him walk over to Jonathan as I walked back over to the admissions desk. I busied myself with organizing for the morning shift, trying to put the handsome Mr. Pierce out of my mind. As I worked, I couldn’t help but look up every few minutes to see what Mr. Pierce was up to. I finished organizing and went to look up, only Mr. Pierce was standing in front of the desk. I jumped back, a little startled.

“I apologize, I did not mean to frighten you.”

“It’s okay. You’re so quiet though, but I wasn’t paying attention either.”

“I didn’t want to disturb whatever you were doing, you looked a bit lost in thought.”

“I was just organizing for tomorrow morning.” I said, although it took longer for me to organize simply because I was lost in thought…about him.

“Well, I need to be demanding at the moment. I must demand that you show me the gallery that my work is in.” He said with a smile.

“You haven’t seen the gallery yet?!” I said, surprised that Jonathan hadn’t have shown him as soon as he walked in.

Mr. Pierce shook his head.

I grabbed my phone and looked at the time. It was ten minutes to nine.

“Okay, we have about ten minutes before the guests arrive.”

I opened the door to the main gallery, holding it open for Mr. Pierce. He reached over my head and grabbed onto the door.

“After you.” He said, holding the door, rather, for me.

I mouthed thanks and walked in, he followed behind.

“Your feet really need a rest don’t they?” He mentioned.

“Yeah, these aren’t the most comfortable platform shoes to be in for more than a few hours.” I replied as I continued to clomp through the gallery, these shoes feeling like bricks. As we walked around the auditorium, I turned to him.

“No complaining.” I said with attitude before bringing him around the corner.

He held his hands up and shook his head, “I promise.”

I held my hands out in ta-da motion, at the tables holding his bottles of fine wines and then continued walking into the gallery. I turned around to watch his reaction to the gallery. He walked in and looked around, looking pleased at the way everything was displayed. I looked around, too, and immediately was lost to his world of art, again.

“Your work is so…” I trailed off as I walked over to one of his sculptures on a pedestal. I felt him staring at me. “Dark, and full of suffering and pain.” I continued almost breathless.

I walked over to one of the large paintings on the wall. “A being filled with torment.”

“And your photographs are so stunning and beautiful with ghostly figures.”

He took a step next to me.

“Are you always so connected to art?” He whispered.

I nodded, “Yes.”

“Are you an artist, too?”

“Yes.”I replied before snapping out of my trance of his artwork. I looked at him.

“Thank you for what you said, at least someone here will understand it, I’m not sure everyone else will. They definitely didn’t offer me this exhibit because they thought I was a talented artist.”

“I think you are…”

“Well, thank you, Miss Charlotte.”

I smiled, “It just might make people think what you were going through to inspire this. But I have to admit I am curious, too.”

I met his gaze, then we both looked away.

“We should probably get back to the front.” I said.

He nodded and we walked out together, I tried to walk quieter through the gallery, but it was just impossible.

As we exited out of the gallery, I walked over to the desk.

“Is there anything I could get you before guests arrive, Mr. Pierce?” Mr. Pierce just rolling off my tongue.

“Anton. A glass of water would be great.”

MidWeek Tease o4.12.17

midweeknewestHi! Welcome to MidWeek Tease! It’s been awhile since I’ve participated. But I’m back to share some snippets from a new story I just took off with for Camp NaNoWriMo. Very much a WIP, so typos and things not making sense might happen.

I don’t have a blurb just yet. Its’s tentatively titled Blood Wine (??) I don’t know if I like it. I had to come up with a title for my Camp NaNo profile and that flew out of my mouth.

It’s a vampire erotic romance, you know because that’s all I can seem to write 😉

It’s about a young, wealthy, Finger Lakes (NY) winery owner and artist, who falls for a woman who works at the art museum.

I’m starting a little after the beginning when Anton Pierce walks into the art museum for opening night of his art exhibition. It is written from Charlotte’s point of view, she’s tired, already working overtime, and not happy about a later than usual opening reception that she is working. She’s supposed to be working the admissions desk and be Mr. Pierce’s personal assistant while he is there. She’s talking to her co-worker at the beginning of this…

male-vampire-biting-woman-passion-20611105She asked to borrow a pen to write something down. As she wrote, I happened to look up and a see a man walk through the front entrance. He was tall, nicely built, with dark hair that was styled longish past his ear on one side and short on the other. He had wide steel plug earrings in both ears. He was dressed all in black; black suit styled pants, black shirt, and a black suit jacket, all with a gothic flare. The kind of clothing I was usually into. Damn.

“That’s Anton Pierce?” I asked.

Dana looked up. “Yup.” She said nonchalantly and went back to writing, not impressed by him. He looked in my direction and slightly smiled before Jonathan ran up to him to give him details about the night. When Dana was finished she looked at him.

“Poor guy gets accosted by Jonathan as soon as he walks in the door.” She said.

He was staring at me as Jonathan gave him his spiel. I was trying not to show that I noticed.

“He’s younger than I thought he’d be.” I admitted.

“He’s about your age.” Dana replied, “He’s done really well for himself with the winery.”

Dana looked at me, “He’s so your type.”

“I don’t know, rich dudes usually aren’t my thing.” I said.

Dana looked at me, “You might want to change that.”

“He’s cute. But he better not be another whiny artist, I’m not in the mood to put up with his shit.” I said with sass.

Dana laughed. “True. It’s been a long week, I’m ready for the weekend. You should be all set for tomorrow.”

She left the papers on the admissions desk and walked away. She passed by Mr. Pierce and said hello quickly, as Jonathan scurried off. I walked around the desk and made my way over. As I approached, Mr. Pierce looked at me, I noticed his strikingly ice blue eyes. And that he was wearing black eyeliner. Damn it.

“Hi, Mr. Pierce,” I smiled, “I’m Charlotte.” I must have sounded like a robot with a pre-recorded message, giving him a standard intro that everyone was giving him, but I was trying to act professional. It must have come off as I was having a hard time.

He smiled, shaking my hand. I felt bad, my hands were always so damn cold, but his was just as cold, probably from having just been outside

“Please, no Mr. Pierce, call me Anton.” He said. I noticed he had a very slight accent, not American.

“Okay.” I replied. What came next out of my mouth wasn’t even embarrassing, since it came out so natural and with my attitude, as if it were a warning to him.

“Well, I’m your personal servant…slave…assistant tonight.”

“Sorry.” I added, sorry but not really.

Mr. Pierce laughed, “Long day already?”

“Yes, very.” I said.

“Well, I do apologize Miss Charlotte, that I had to request a later than usual reception, my schedule can get a bit crazy sometimes.”

His accent really slipped through when he said my name and the way he had said Miss… I trying my best not to melt. I just kept telling myself I wasn’t looking for anything, I was too damn busy with life.

“Please don’t apologize, it’s really not your fault. I apologize for my attitude. It’s just me. Please let me know if there is anything you need or anything I can get you. I’ll be stuck to that desk most of the night.”

Mr. Pierce laughed.

“Well, I can be very demanding when I want to be. But I assure you I don’t need much, I’m not like most artists who will complain that everything is wrong.”

I wasn’t sure if he was referring to his wine business dealings or something else. I honestly had hoped he meant it in other ways. Stop thinking dirty thoughts, I told myself.

“Perfect.” I smiled, “Now enough of my unprofessionalism…I’m so sorry.”

“Don’t be, I deal with boring by the book professionals every single day. Its nice to meet someone with sense of humor and attitude.”

Jonathan once again, called Mr. Pierce’s name. He acknowledged Jonathan and turned back to me.

“If you would excuse me, Miss Charlotte.” He reached for my hand, “It was a pleasure to meet you.”

He gently kissed the back of my hand.

“Likewise, Mr. Pierce.” I smiled.

“Anton.” He said, staring at me before walking off.
